Le système d’admission en ligne pour l’École d’été de chant choral de l’Université de Sherbrooke, présenté en collaboration avec le Mondial Choral Loto-Québec , est maintenant ouvert. Du 25 juin au 2 juillet, au campus de Longueuil, le chef de choeur Robert Ingari dirigera cette formation intensive destiné aux choristes expérimentés et passionnés, quel que soit leur âge et leur parcours musical. Le répertoire au programme pour le cours de cette année est la musique des Amériques : Misa Tango de Luis Enrique Bacalov et Rhapsody in Blue de George Gershwin (dans une version rarement interprétée pour piano, choeur et orchestre). La performance finale, sous forme de grand gala concert avec orchestre symphonique, se tiendra à Laval, dans le cadre de la 7e édition du Mondial Choral Loto-Québec. The on-line application system is now open for the University of Sherbrooke’s summer choral singing programme (École d’été de chant choral) presented in collaboration with Le Mondial Choral Loto-Québec. From June 25 to July 2 at the university’s Longueuil campus, master conductor Robert Ingari leads this intensive course of study geared towards experienced and passionate choristers of all ages and backgrounds. The principal repertoire for this year’s course is music of the Americas: Luis Enrique Bacalov’s Misa Tango and George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue (in the rarely-performed version for solo piano, choir and orchestra). The final performance will take place in Laval at Le Mondial Choral. The Mondial Choral team is in Chicago gearing up for the 2011 American Choral Directors Association National Conference.
While some of us were busy setting up our booth for the official opening tomorow, a few of us decided to sneak over to the Auditorium Theatre to see a good friend of our festival, Eric Whitacre, leading a chorus of a few hundred singers from across the United States and an amazing cast of soloists in a concert performamce of “Paradise Lost: Shadows and Wings” …what a perfect way to start our week here in Chicago and looking forward to seeing many more of our choral friends over the course of the next few days.

Un événement choral international qui prône les valeurs de la solidarité, de la paix et de la compréhension mutuelle.
La journée mondiale du chant choral est une initiative d’Alberto Grau, membre de la vice-présidence latino-américaine de la Fédération Internationale pour la Musique Chorale. Cette initiative a été proposée et approuvée par l’assemblée générale de la FIMC qui s’est tenue à Helsinki en août 1990 dans le cadre du 2ème symposium mondial sur la musique chorale:
“Le monde est confronté à de sévères et continuelles crises d’autodestruction. Il n’y a aucune cause acceptable pour justifier ces actions. La majorité des gens désirent vivre dans la paix et la dignité. Il est temps de montrer, avec plus de maîtrise et de dynamisme, que la famille du chant choral contribue, à travers la musique, à briser les barrières artificielles créées par les différences politiques, religieuses, raciales ou idéologiques qui séparent les humains. Nous devons être capable de montrer que la MUSIQUE, cet art divin, est bien plus qu’une simple recherche de perfection absolue et de beauté relative mais qu’elle doit avant tout servir à prôner les valeurs de la solidarité, de la paix et de la compréhension mutuelle. Nous ne pouvons travailler de façon isolée, nous devons faire tout ce qui est en notre pouvoir pour faire entendre nos voix et laisser la musique tracer ses propres chemins de communication.”

An international choral event to extol the values of solidarity, peace and understanding
The International Day of Choral Singing is an initiative of Alberto Grau from the Latin American Vice-Presidency of the International Federation for Choral Music, proposed and approved by the General Assembly of IFCM held in Helsinki in August, 1990, within the framework of the 2nd World Symposium on Choral Music:
“The world is living through severe and continuous crisis of self destruction. There are no possible reasons that can justify these actions. The majority of the human race wants to live in peace with dignity. It is time to show, with more power and strength, that our choral family contributes, through music to break down the artificial barriers product of politics, different ideologies, religious differences, and racial hatred that separate human beings. We must be able to show that MUSIC, the divine art, is more than the mere search of formal perfection and interpretative beauty, music should serve to extol the values of solidarity, peace, and understanding . We cannot work isolated, we have to make all possible efforts to have our voices heard and to let music work its own paths of communication.”
